This image from the Hubble Space Telescope shows AndromedaΓÇÖs ΓÇ£double nucleus.ΓÇ¥ Each of the two bright spots contains a few million densely packed stars. Some theories suggest that the brighter cluster is the remains of a cannibalized galaxy and that AndromedaΓÇÖs true center is the dimmer one. According to another theory, our view of AndromedaΓÇÖs center is simply bisected by a dust lane.
